MSNBC Host Makes Rob Bell Squirm: "You’re Amending The Gospel…

Oh, how good it is to see that that those who were decrying Justin Taylor for His criticism did not really understand the issue at all.  You don’t have to read everything to make a comment and discern wether a writer is orthodox in his theology or not.  One can, should, and do make educated judgments based on previous experience, understandings, evidences. Those that complained about Taylor and Piper need to become much more discerning rather than trying to sound intelligent.   Justin Taylor Commented on this video:  Martin Bashir is a reporter impatient with evasive answers. He even quotes from Kevin DeYoung’s review and asks Rob Bell

With all the pejorative misinformation and straw-man presentations of different Evangelistic Theologies.  The following post from Desiring God is a helpful in understanding the Biblical basis and importance of Substitutionary Atonement or Actual Atonement when proclaiming the Gospel. Unbeliever: So what are you offering

It can also be used to helpfully clarify your own position. It’s a simple true/false answer for each question. Why not jot down your answers and then see how they compare to John Stott? You may remember that earlier in the series I shared a quote from Stott with which many today would feel uncomfortable. How much do you agree with Stott?

Anonement – Sufficient and Effecitve

I appreciate Adrian Warkock’s understanding of the Antonment. He show a bery balanced view and how at the same time the atonement is applied in some way to everyone as well as specifically to only those that believe. His says …we can surely agree that Jesus’ death was enough for the whole world, but will not be permanently applied to the whole world—so while unrepentant sinners do benefit temporarily from the death of Jesus, they will not benefit forever. It is only those who are united with Jesus that will ultimately benefit. Thus, to me the Scripture teaches that there
