I am currently reading through “Three Views of the New Testament use of the Old Testament” and wanted to unpack some issues. First, this issue was one that Seminary did a poor job of preparing pastors for in their teaching ministry. Secondly, most Christians don’t deal with the different perspective that the New Testament authors had in their use of Old Testament texts. It gets confusing to see a New Testament passage applying and expanding the meaning to new contexts and referents.
