OT Believers and their relationship with the Holy Spirit

Here are the articles about OT Believers and their relationship with the Holy Spirit that I promised to give you.  The first article by Dr. Jim Hamilton is the best in my opinion. Were OT Beleivers Indwelt by the Holy Spiritby Dr. Jim Hamilton. His ConclusionWere old covenant believers indwelt by the Holy Spirit? No. They did not need to be.  God dwelt in the temple. He was thereby with them. How did old covenant believers become and remain faithful? They became faithful by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, which in the OT is described more as ‘circumcision of the heart’ (cf.

MSNBC Host Makes Rob Bell Squirm: "You’re Amending The Gospel…

Oh, how good it is to see that that those who were decrying Justin Taylor for His criticism did not really understand the issue at all.  You don’t have to read everything to make a comment and discern wether a writer is orthodox in his theology or not.  One can, should, and do make educated judgments based on previous experience, understandings, evidences. Those that complained about Taylor and Piper need to become much more discerning rather than trying to sound intelligent.   Justin Taylor Commented on this video:  Martin Bashir is a reporter impatient with evasive answers. He even quotes from Kevin DeYoung’s review and asks Rob Bell

What Do I Owe to the Person Who Differs from Me?

this is a very helpful article: How to Deal with Those who Differ from Us (Rodger Nicole) – 2 of the best quotes on this occur at the end of the article:  Perhaps the most important consideration for the Christian is to remain aware at all times of the goal to be achieved. Israel, Arabs, and the Family of God

I really joyed reading this Biblically balanced and Biblically faithful understanding of how we should see justice in the Middle East.  The post is from John Piper on March 4, 2011. Israel, Arabs, and the Family of God: “Last Sunday I met an Arab Christian who was visiting our church. In a respectful way, he poured out his heart concerning the plight of his people in the Middle East and his sadness at how few American Christian pastors ever say anything positive or hopeful about Arab Christians. His perception is that Christians in America give carte blanche support for Israel.

Preaching as Exultation

Dull and boring preaching kills.  Preaching needs to be moved by the truth of the bible not only in our understanding but in our affections.  That is why I believe that a preacher should fill themselves up with the word and then preach extemporanously because the Love the God and his truth found in the Bible.  One cannot be animated while tied to notes very well.  The following quotes from Gospel Driven Church  also resonate with my heart on this issue as well. Preaching as Exultation: “The cure for dull preaching is not simply better information or more creative themes/props, but a sense of exultation in
