Why Christ is the final and fullest Revelation of God

Here is a great post from Kirk Miller Blog.  It is absolutly a Biblical need to have a  Biblical undersrtanding of how later revelation is built on previous revelation.   I am amaized at how many Christians have a flat view of the Bible that allows for no organic expansion of the meaning of a text due to fuller and more complete revelation.   This is what the concept and doctrine of “Progressive Revelation” is all about.  Read below and be blessed to learn how we should read the Scriptures better and more accurately.   The Old Testament (OT) anticipates Christ and

Resolutions for the New Year – 2016

I love to reach about Christians who make resolutions to following and grow in their committment to Christ.  Many of us know that Jonathan Edwards made many resolutions that he kept because we are all live by the resolutions we are constantly making.  You can read about Jonathan Edwards and his resolutions here, here, and here.    You can also read more about the process of making resolutions (promises to yourself) here, here, here, and here.  I wanted to find out principally what people today do that keep and follow through on their commitments and resolutions to themselves and others.  Here

10-10-10-10-10 Rule for Bible Reading

Here is the YouVersion Bible Reading plans http://www.youversion.com/reading-plans/all There are many and I mean many plans to chose from here.  Don’t wait, start now.  It doesn’t matter if you only have 1 minute or 2 hours.  Start with something.  I try daily to follow at minimum a 10-10-10-10-10 Rule: Read the bible For 10 minutes, Read a book for 10 minutes, Pray for 10 minutes, and Memorize Scripture for 10 minutes Write for 10 minutes Preach the Gospel for 10 minutes to yourself (of course evangelism would grow out of this discipline). Of course each of these can be changed

Bible Reading Plans for 2016

I know that at any given time and at at ever moment everybody is seeking something.  For me I want that something to be God.  Because God’s Word (the Bible) tells us that Jesus Christ is God, the Son and reveals God, the Father as the exact image of him (Colossians 1), I desire ever year to read what God has revealed about himself in the only book that reveals what is totally true and trustworthy about who God is and what he has and is doing in this world –  And That Book is that Bible – a book

Why Read the Bible?

Here is great motivation to read the Bible with the right goal in mind: “…to think God’s thoughts after him, to love what he loves, to cherish what he cherishes, to hate what he hates.  It is to shae the whole mind and heart.” — D.A. Carson

5 Reasons to Read the Entire Bible in 2016

by Jeff Robinson I vividly recall two conversations with pastors shortly after I surrendered to pastoral ministry in the late-1990s. The conversations were pivotal because in them I was exposed to two divergent approaches to ministry, and the Lord used them to convince me that I must saturate my mind with Scripture. In one conversation I asked a longtime pastor how many times he’d read the Bible in its entirety from Genesis to Revelation. “Never, but I hope to someday,” he replied. I was stunned. I thought, “Then how do you know what you believe?” Soon after I encountered another longtime shepherd of

Merry Christmas from the Glenn, Ann, Jonathan, & Andrew Leatherman

Merry Christmas from the Glenn, Ann, Jonathan, & Andrew Leatherman “All the Christmas presents in the world are worth nothing without the presence of Christ.” “If we could condense all the truths of Christmas into only three words, these would be the words: ‘God with us.’ We tend to focus our attention at Christmas on the infancy of Christ. The greater truth of the holiday is His deity. More astonishing than a baby in the manger is the truth that this promised baby is the omnipotent Creator of the heavens and the earth!”
