The Intolerance of Tolerance

There is no neutrality. If tolerance trades on neutrality, tolerance is in trouble.  Everyone is intolerant of someone else’s’ beliefs.  Everyone has an absolute belief in truth that causes them to be intolerant of another’s beliefs.  This is not wrong but necessary.  We should tolerate everyone but not everyone’s ideas.  There must be the freedom for everyone to speak and promote their ideas, beliefs, truths in the marketplace of ideas.  Though we should tolerate people we must agree that not all worldviews, statements of truth are equally right.  There is nothing hateful or intolerant to say that one’s view is
